BIBLE COURSE

The Church worldwide is experiencing a fresh awakening in our time. As a result, many believers around the world have expressed a deep hunger for the Word of God, and the workings of the Holy Spirit. Bible reading and study can often seem dry and academic, and so often it is easy to get bogged down in deep theological discussion and academic debate.

The Way of the Spirit is a Bible Reading Course with a difference. Its four six-month parts take you through the whole Bible in two years, tracing the revival life of the Bible and the power of the Holy Spirit revealed in its pages. It will help you understand what the Bible is all about, what the way of God's spirit is in it, and how to enter more fully into the richness of life that men of Bible times enjoyed.

The primary goal of the two-year course is to build confidence for Christian living and ministry based on understanding God’s word. The course seeks to answer the following questions:

1) 1) Who am I, and what is my inheritance in Christ?

2) 2) Who is God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) for me?

3) 3) What is God doing in our world today?

4) 4) What then should I be doing in my life as a Christian?

The course is broken down into 4 parts, each containing a commentary and workbook.

The Call and the Cross - outlines the basic principles on which all Christian life and experience needs to be founded: faith in God’s promises, obedience to his call and acknowledgement of the saving power of Christ’s sacrifice.

Times of Refreshing - traces the main movements of revival in biblical history. It highlights the principles by which God’s kingdom operates and outlines the challenges and vision that inspire all men of the Spirit.

Heirs of the Prophets - examines the experiences and teachings of prophets and other men of the Spirit in both the Old and New Testaments, demonstrating how their faith and vision are of the very essence of biblical hope.

My Lord and My God - looks at the common approaches of Spirit-filled Christians and the Bible to worship, service, pastoral matters, and the challenges of daily living.

The course requires the use of the Bible, workbook and commentary.

The workbooks provide a series of questions based upon the systematic selection of scripture being read each week. Some of the questions are more factual, pertaining to the actual events in that selected reading. The remaining questions are more personal and directed at helping the reader apply the principals of scripture to ones everyday Christian experience.

The primary purpose of the commentary is to provide background information and to point out the main drift of the way of the Spirit so you can read the Bible more meaningfully for yourself. It is not in anyway intended to be a substitute for reading the Bible and listening to the Spirit.
